My favourite tree
and flower in Monfragüe
(by Ana Blanco,
1ºESO 1)
My favourite tree is the
willow because it is one of the species that form the called gallery forests
and also because before the invention of the aspirin, willow´s bark was very
reputed as tonic, febrifuge and anti-rheumatic
My favourite
flower is the lavender, because I love how its smell and its colour. I think
it is interesting that it has been used as an antiseptic and vulneraria,
cleaning with its essence the ulcers and wounds.

THE OTTER (by, Ana Blanco 1st ESO 1)
The otter lives
near water in rivers, streams, lakes, reservoirs and even coasts. It has an
elongated body, short legs, a flat snout and an elongated skull. Its fur has
different shades of brown and it has membranes between the fingers. It is
between 62 and 69 cm long (without the tail). Otters eat frogs, crustaceans,
fish, mussels…
The otter can be
underwater 4 minutes and can use small rocks like tools for hunt (they take a
stone and hit the shell of a mussel to eat it). It can´t fly or run very fast,
but it can swim at 12 km/h. It isn´t in danger of extinction.
In the photo, the
otter is swimming and searching for food.
THE RABBIT (by Inma Gonzalez
1ºESO 1)
Rabbits usually live in sandy soils areas that provide
them the construction of their burrows. They also like forests although they
tend to opt for vast fields.
They have a body covered with thick, woolly fur, pale
brown to grey in colour, an oval head and large eyes. They weigh between 1`5
and 2`5 kg in the wild. The wild rabbit measures 34 to 50 cm (head and body
length), the ears measure 4 to 8 cm. Their weight varies from 1`2 to 2`5 kg.
They have 6 incisors, a difference from rodents, which
only have four. The additional incisors are round, small, and directly behind
the upper incisors. Rabbits’ teeth are open rooted and grow
continuously.
THE DEER (by Lucía
G.E 1ºESO 2)
The deer takes refuge in areas of forest or bush. Its body’s colour is
light brown. Its size is two metres (or also can be one metre) in adults deers.
These animals are robust, majestic and active. They are herbivorous so they eat
grass, plants, roots, leaves, stems... A curious fact is that since they are
young, their parents take their food, while they watch to learn how they have to
do it. They can make a special sound called “Howl”( “Berrea” in Spanish),that
indicates that summer is ending and winter is coming. In my picture the animal
is eating from a tree.
The fox (by Naila G.1ºESO 1)
The fox is an
animal that lives in burrows but its habitat is the forest.
They have a
fur brown colour and they are of medium size. Foxes are mammal animals with
pointed ears, long and thin snout and furry tail and body. They can run
for hunting.
Foxes are
omnivorous animals and they also hunt. They use their fine smell and ears for
detecting small rodents.
Their
abilities are they have night outs because they have a very good view. They are
very cunning and lonely animals.
The Eurasian Eagle(by Patricia M.1ºESO 1)
They are brown and they are very big. They
can hunt in the dark but they can't sleep during the day. Normally, they eat
birds and mammals, because they kill them. In my picture, my animal is looking
at the camera, because they are very intelligent. They live in Europe. They
have two big eyes, two small legs, soft feathers and two small legs. They are
very good at hunting.
